depending on vehicle condition.

Immobilizer Control Module (ICM) Removal and
Installation
Removal
1) Disconnect negative (–) cable from battery.
2) Disable air bag system referring to "Disabling Air
Bag System: in Section 8B in related manual".
3) Remove driver air bag (inflator) module referring to
"Driver Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and
Installation: in Section 8B in related manual".
4) Remove steering wheel referring to "Steering Wheel
Removal and Installation: in Section 6B in related
manual".
5) Remove steering column lower and upper covers.
6) Disconnect connector (1) from ICM (2).
1. CAN communication line signal (High)
2. CAN communication line signal (Low)
CH1: G24-5 to G24-7
CH2: G24-6 to G24-7
CH1: 1 V/DIV
CH2: 1 V/DIV
TIME: 40 µs/DIV
Ignition switch at ON position.

Immobilizer Control System:
I5JB0BA30006-01
7) Remove a screw (3) from ICM.
8) Remove ICM from steering lock assembly.
NOTE
The antenna part of ICM is fragile. Therefore,
do not add strong power to the part or twist
the part.
Installation
Reverse the removal procedure.
