10.6.7 Drive Initialization Function

The drive initialization function initializes the configuration information of a drive that has been
used as a RAID1 to reset it as an initialized drive. Use this function in the following situations:
• To reuse a drive that has been used as a backup drive
• To reuse a normal drive that has been accidentally taken offline
• To reuse a drive that has been taken offline by RAS software for equipment evaluation
< NOTE >
・If you attempt to reuse a drive by using the drive initialization function in a
situation other than those described here, the system might not be recovered, or
even if it is recovered, it might not operate normally.
・A drive that has been automatically taken offline by the equipment might be
defective. Do not perform drive initialization on such a drive.
1. Open the menu window of the software RAID utility. (For details, see 10.6.2 (1).)
