51 Product description
The spool position sensor monitors the position of the control spool in directional
valves. The neutral position and A and B direction of motion of the control spool
are detected and monitored by a contact-free Hall sensor via an analog voltage
output signal.
The sensor is fixed by the thread. The tracking pin lies on the front side of the
control spool. The tracking pin maintains contact with the control spool via
a compression spring and follows its movements. The Hall sensor on the internal
circuit board detects the movement of the tracking pin and passes a signal on to
the electronics. A microcontroller calculates the position of the tracking pin and
turns it into an analog voltage output signal.
The sensor delivers two position-dependent rectangular signals for determination
of the neutral position and recognition of the flow direction at the consumer port.
The precise technical specifications and differences between the variants can be
found in the data sheet.
Application examples
Due to its compact, sturdy design, the sensor is suitable for example, for integrated
use with Rexroth mobile control blocks.
The evaluation and rating of the sensor signals of the spool position sensor is
incumbent on the higher-level system. Various different BODAS controllers with
application software are available for this purpose. Further information can also
be found online at www.boschrexroth.com/mobile-electronics.
