3.4.4 Problems with Interfaces

This section provides how to troubleshoot problems on the USB interface and memory card slot.
USB interface error
Possible Cause
The printer driver has not been
installed correctly.
USB cable failure
Poor connection of the USB
terminals

Memory card-related problems (R360/R380/R390 only)

Memory card data failure (data in the
card may have been damaged by
static electricity or etc.)

Troubleshooting

Check Point
On the Windows PC, go to My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device
Manager. Is the printer driver associated with Other Devices?
Replace the USB cable with a new one. Does the USB communication
between the printer and PC return to normal?
Is there any foreign matter on the USB terminal?
Is the Main Board damaged or broken?

Check Point
Using other device such as PC, check the memory card if files in the card can
be read normally. Can the device also not read the files?
Is the memory card a type not supported by the printer?
Replace the card with another one.Does the printer recognize the card?
Is there any foreign matter attached to the memory card or in the card slot?
Is there any bent or broken pins in the card slot?
Check inside the printer. Is there any disconnected FFCs, or ferrite cores not
located properly?
Is the Main Board damaged or broken?
Troubleshooting by Symptom
Remedy
Uninstall the driver and reinstall it correctly following the
instruction described in the User's Guide.
The USB cable is defective. Use the new one.
Remove the foreign matter.
Replace the Main Board.
Remedy
Advise the user to format the memory card or use a new one.
Use a memory card supported by the printer.
The card is defective. Use the another one.
Remove the foreign matter or dirt.
Replace the Card Board.
Download and install the latest firmware.
If no such statuses are found, replace the Main Board.
