Toshiba MIB Files

The MIB is a text file that defines a set of objects that are processed via a network protocol. These objects
determine what UPS parameters may be monitored and controlled using SNMP requests.
The RemotEye 4 implements standard MIB and the following MIBs for these TOSHIBA UPS models (MIB's are
available on the included RemotEye 4 CD, or as a download from www.tic.toshiba.com):
1) TIC-RMTI4-T1000-MIB File
2) TIC-RMTI4-1600XP-MIB File
3) TIC-RMTI4-4300-MIB File
4) TIC-RMTI4-4400-MIB File
5) TIC-RMTI4-G9000-MIB File (Note: Also compatible with G2020 UPS)
6) TIC-RMTI-5000-N3R-MIB File
7) TIC RMTI-5000-3P1-MIB File
8) TIC-RMTI4-SYS-MIB File

NMS (Manager) Settings

There are two areas of consideration when coordinating an NMS with a RemotEye 4. First, the Manager software
on the NMS must be prepared to handle the RemotEye 4 Management Information Base (MIB), and second, the
Manager must be configured to receive any traps the RemotEye 4 sends.
6.1.2.1 Import the MIB Files
The MIB files are contained on the factory-supplied CD-ROM. These files describe the information that is
attainable from each Toshiba UPS.
The Toshiba MIB files must be manually entered (imported or compiled) into the Manger database. For instruction
on incorporating private MIB files into the Manager, consult the Manager Software documentation.
6.1.2.2 MIB Import Example
This example shows how to incorporate the Toshiba MIB into the Manager application HP OpenView Workgroup
Node Manager. The software runs on the Windows platform.
Launch HP OpenView Workgroup Node Manager.
From the Control pull down menu, click SNMP Manager  Manage Database  Select  (map to the MIB file,
TIC-RMTI4-1600XP-MIB.mib, on the included CDROM)  click ADD.
Click "Close" to close the SNMP Manager Database.
6.1.2.3 Specifying Trap Receivers
To send traps to an NMS (Network Management System), the NMS IP Address must be specified in the SNMP
Traps Receiver Table.
