Always hold the tool and screwdriver bit in a straight line

with the screw.
When screwing in wood, it is recommended to drill a pilot
x
hole with a depth equal to the length of the screw. A pilot
hole guides the screw and prevents splintering or
distortion of the wood. For the optimum size of the pilot
hole, refer to the table below.
When screwing in hardwood, also drill a clearance hole
x
with a depth equal to half the length of the screw. For the
optimum size of the clearance hole, refer to the table
below.

Maintenance

operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.
Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool using a

soft brush or dry cloth.
Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth.

Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.

Battery (fig. E)
If you want to dispose of the tool yourself, the
battery must be removed as described below and

disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals. Do not use
tools to remove the battery; only use your fingers.
If possible, operate the tool to run the battery down

completely.
Use a screwdriver to remove the clip (8).
x
Pull the front part off the tool.
x
Loosen and remove the screws on the handle clamshells.
x
Lift the batteries out of the tool.
x
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals.
x
Place the battery in a suitable packaging to ensure that
x
the terminals cannot be short-circuited. Take the battery
to your service agent or a local recycling station. Collected
batteries will be recycled or disposed of properly.
