GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS THE PERFORMANT LUBE WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
When the console is in the manual mode, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with a touch of a button. As you exercise, the LED displays Note: If there is a thin sheet of clear plastic on the face of the console, remove it.

C. Reading RackÑAllows you to enjoy your favorite magazine or read a book while you get in shape. D. INCLINE ButtonsÑThese buttons control the incline of the treadmill. Each time a button is pressed, the incline will change by 0.5%. The incline range is 1.5% to 10%.

DISTANCE/INCLINE display will show the incline setting for seven seconds. After the INCLINE buttons are pressed, it may take a moment for the treadmill to reach the selected incline setting. Follow your progress with the LED displays.

Step onto the foot rails and press the PAUSE/STOP button. Next, change the incline of the treadmill to 1.5%. The incline must be at 1.5% when the treadmill is folded to the storage position or the treadmill will be damaged.

SPEED buttons. If a speed program is selected, the incline of the treadmill can be changed at any time with the INCLINE buttons. The TIME display will show the time remaining in the program.

The Custom 1 and Custom 2 programs are workout programs that you create. The programs control both the speed and the incline of the treadmill, and can be up to 40 minutes long. The programs are stored in memory, and can be changed as many times as de- sired.

When the program is completed, remove the key. Make sure that the incline of the treadmill is at 1.5%. The incline must be at 1.5% when the treadmill is folded to the storage position or the treadmill will be damaged. Remove the key from the con- sole and put it in a secure place.

The console features an information mode that keeps track of the total time and distance accumulated on the treadmill. The information mode also allows you to switch the console from miles per hour to kilometers per hour. To select the information mode, hold down the PAUSE/STOP button while inserting the key into the console.
1. Hold the handrails and place one foot on the base. 2. Tilt the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the front wheels. Carefully move the treadmill to the desired location. To re- duce the risk of injury, use extreme caution while moving the treadmill.
3 to 4 inches off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

If you weight over 200 pounds, it may also be helpful to increase the incline of the treadmill. If the error code ap- pears again, call our Customer Service Department. Do not operate the treadmill until the problem is corrected.
