Purpose: The document is intended for use by end-of-life recyclers or treatment facilities. It provides the basic
instructions for the disassembly of HPE products to remove components and materials requiring selective treatment,
as defined by Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE).
1.0 Items Requiring Selective Treatment

  • Page 32 22. Remove the bottom drawer Igus communication cables from the board as shown below. Top and bottom drawer removal 1. Press the latches on both sides of the top drawer as shown by red arrows and pull out the drawer from the chassis as indicated by the green arrow.

  • Page 34 4. Hold the frame as marked by the red arrows and pull out the drawer all the way until the last drive bay is separated from the front of the top cover. Carefully pull the cable from the chassis and un-route the cables from the chassis.
