Switching to a new configuration

Procedure
1. Back up the configuration using cfg-backup running-config config command. In
the following example, the configuration name used is "stable".
cfg-backup running-config config stable
2. Check the backup configuration using show config files command.
switch(config)# show config files

3. Change the running configuration as required, and backup the new configuration as "newfile".
cfg-backup running-config config newfile
switch(config)# show config files
Configuration files:

4. Check the difference between the "newfile" (running configuration) and "stable" (backed up configuration)
using cfg-restore flash stable diff command. Based on the difference, apply the backed-up
configuration using cfg-restore flash stable command.
5. Check the status of the configuration restore using show cfg-restore status command.
