username
To configure a new user with a username, establish a password, grant permissions for the user, and to enter
username configuration mode, use the username command in XR Config mode or System Admin Config
mode. To delete a user from the database, use the no form of this command.
username user-name [password {[0]| 7} password| password-policy policy-name| secret {[0]| 5} password|

Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting Commands
Name of the user. The user-name
argument can be only one word.
Spaces and quotation marks are not
allowed.
(Optional) Enables a password to
be created for the named user.
(Optional) Specifies that an
unencrypted (clear-text) password
follows. The password will be
encrypted for storage in the
configuration using a Cisco
proprietary encryption algorithm.
(Optional) Specifies that an
encrypted password follows.
(Optional) Specifies the
unencrypted password text to be
entered by the user to log in, for
example, " lab ". If encryption is
configured, the password is not
visible to the user.
Can be up to 253 characters in
length.
Applies a particular password
policy to the user.
Specifies the name of the password
policy.
This policy name has to be
configured prior to applying this
policy to the user.
