Saving / Restoring management blade settings

Non-default management blade settings are automatically stored from the
management blade NVRAM to the Chassis ID EPROM which is located in the
front docking board. To avoid the loss of management blade settings when
replacing the front docking board, you must create a backup copy of the
management blade settings.
After replacing the front docking board, you must to restore the backup copy of
the management blade settings to the new front docking board.
Saving management blade settings
Ê Enter the management blade web interface, see section
management blade web interface" on page
Ê Select the System – Management Blades – Management Blade-x menu for the
management blade with the backup medium.
Ê Open the Backup/Restoration tab.
Ê In the Backup Configuration box select the backup medium.
– Select Local File to store the backup file in the file system of the field
service terminal.

The filename of the backup file will be automatically generated
using date and time the format mmbyyyymmtthhmmss.bin
– Select USB if the backup file is stored in a USB memory stick.

This option is only displayed if a USB memory stick is connected
to the management blade.
Ê Click the Backup button to start the backup process.
If the backup process has been finished successfully, the following message
will be displayed in the Memory/USB Backup Status field.
