For the purposes of this example, the FTG Configuration (.tlx) file being used to configure the TVs at
the site contains multiple Installer Menu and TV Setup Menu profiles with different Zone designations,
as well as several channels with Zone restrictions. Each TV configured with the default Zone 0 will
download only the Installer Menu and/or TV Setup Menu profile(s) with a Zone 0 designation. If, on
the other hand, a TV is configured for Zone 1, during configuration the TV will first attempt to retrieve
Installer Menu and/or TV Setup Menu profiles with a Zone 1 designation. If none of the Installer Menu
and/or TV Setup Menu profiles has a Zone 1 designation, the TV will download the profile(s) with
a Zone 0 designation. For the FTG Channel Map configuration, when the TV Zone is 0, the TV will
ignore any restrictions that may be placed on channels in the FTG Channel Map. However, when the
TV Zone is 1, during configuration, the TV will omit any channels that have been restricted from
Zone 1.
Note: While a channel can be restricted from up to eight Zones, a TV can only ever be in (set for)
one Zone.
Use the following procedure to set a Zone # in the TV. You will also be able to specify a Label (North,
South, East, West) and Room Number for this TV, if desired. Note that the procedure below can only
be performed while the TV is in Pass-through Mode. However, it is also possible to set the Zone in the
EZ-Manager Wizard (see "EZ-Manager Wizard" on pages 10 to 16 for further information).
1. Turn ON the TV.
2. Press MENU SETTINGS on the Installer Remote, and use
the arrow navigation keys to select/highlight the OPTION
menu option. Then, press OK.
3. Use the Up/Down arrows to select Zone & Room Number,
and then press OK.
4. In the Zone, Label, and Room Number pop-up window,
specify the Zone # and complete the additional fields as
required:
• In the Zone field, use the Up/Down arrow keys to specify
the Zone # for this TV.
• In the Label field, use the Up/Down arrow keys to specify
a North, South, East, or West designation for this TV.
• In the Room Number field, you can use the number keys on
the Installer Remote to direct enter a room number. Use the
Dash key on the Installer Remote as necessary to toggle
between number and letter characters in the Room Number
field. Also, you can use the Flashback key on the Installer
Remote to delete characters in this field.
Note: Use the Left/Right arrow keys on the Installer Remote
to navigate between each of the fields.
5. When you have completed the fields as necessary, select
OK, and then press OK on the Installer Remote to close the
window and return to the Option Menu.
6. Press MENU SETTINGS to return to TV viewing.
