Safety The safety aspects of our refrigerators/freezers comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law. Nevertheless, we consider it our obligation to make you aware of the following safety information: Intended use • The freezer is intended for use in the home. Page 8: Your Freezer Needs Air
Your freezer needs air Your freezer is designed for maintenance-free operation. What it should never lack is good ventilation. Air is supplied under the ventila- tion slot between the freezer and storage surface. Air is extracted through the upper ventilation grille. Never obstruct these openings. Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. -

Warning! A cut-off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure that the cut-off plug is disposed of safely. Plug socket The plug socket necessary for connection of your appliance to the elec- tricity supply should be positioned so that it is possible to pull out the appliance plug. -

Unscrew the handle. Refit it on the opposite side after having pierced the plugs with a punch. Cover the holes left open with the plugs contained in the documentation pack. Important note: if you operate the fast-freeze switch or adjust the temperature regulator, it may happen that your appliance’s refrigerati- on motor does not start immediately but only after some time. Ice pack There is an ice pack in one drawer of the freezer. Refer to the section “Prior to Initial Start–Up” concerning freezing of the ice pack. In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice pack will lengt- hen the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to become too warm by several hours. - Page 14 To utilise the maximum rated freezing capacity, switch on the fast free- ze switch 24 hours before freezing is due to start (the amber light illu- minates). For smaller amounts the fast freeze switch should be swit- ched on 4 - 6 hours in advance. All foods must be packed air tight prior to freezing, so that they do not dry out or lose their flavour, and so that no flavour contamination of other frozen goods occurs.

Storage Goods Symbols/Freezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawers show different types of frozen goods. • The numbers indicate storage times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indi cated storage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pre-treating before freezing. - Page 16 Each temperature rise reduces the keeping qualities of your frozen food. Attention! • Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. – lemon juice or the juice from orange peals; – butyric acid; – cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. -
