    Intended use • The freezer is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the fre- ezing and storing frozen food, as well as for making ice. If the appli- ance is used for purposes other than those intended or used incor- rectly, no liability can be accepted by the manufacturer for any damage that may be caused.

  • Page 8: Your Freezer Needs Air

    Your freezer is designed for maintenance-free operation. It should never lack good ventilation. Air is supplied under the ventilation slot between the freezer and storage surface. Air is extracted through the upper ventilation grille. Never obstruct these openings. Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.

    Warning! A cut-off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure that the cut-off plug is disposed of safely. Plug socket The plug socket necessary for connection of your appliance to the electricity supply should be positioned so that it is possible to pull out the appliance plug.

    Description of the appliance The freezer drawers are stable and have an antitilt feature, and are also retained at their end positions. This assures safe and convenient insertion and removal of frozen food. To remove them, withdraw them as far as the catch, tilt them upwards, and pull them out forwards.

    Audible temperature alarm If your freezer is equipped with an audible temperature alarm (3), an acoustic warning will sound simultaneously with illumination of the red temperature pilot light, alerting you to the fact that the storage temperature in your freezer is too high or too warm.

Freezer drawers (3) and (4) should only be used for storage of frozen food. The lowest draw er has a solid floor and can be used for catching some of the melt- water when the freezer is beeing defrosted.

    Preparation of Ice Cubes Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water, place it in the freezer compartment and leave to freeze. To loosen the frozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tray or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
  • Page 16 Each temperature rise reduces the keeping qualities of your frozen food. Around 12 hours before defrosting your freezer, switch over to fast freeze to build up a low temperature reserve in the frozen food. Warning! • Do not use electrical heating appliances or any other mechanical or artificial devices to speed up the defrosting process.

    Magnetic door seal After opening and closing the door of your freezer whilst it is in operation, you will not immediately be able to open the door again because a vacuum will have developed inside, keeping the door closed until the pressures inside and outside the door have equalised.

    Make sure the freezer door cannot come open during transport. Ensure that the freezer is the last item loaded onto the removal lorry, so that it is the first to be taken off and can be plugged in again at once.
  • Page 19 Customer Service. If the freezing mechanism has stopped working, the reserve in the cold accumulator and in the deep-frozen food itself, if the freezer is full, will be sufficient for about 27 hours, or about 18 hours if there is no cold accumulator.
  • Page 20 Malfunction The freezer temperature is not sufficient, red light lights up, temperature alarm signal sounds. Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Unsual noises. The compressor does not start immediately after changing the temperature setting. Important: regularly check on the red temperature pilot light and thermometer that the storage temperature is being maintained.
