A Planning Checklist

This appendix provides some suggested checklists and information sheets that should be filled
out by the system recipient and an HP representative. When the site planning and preparations
function is performed by HP in consultation with the customer, other deployment documents
(including locale-specific documents) might apply.
A.1 Preinstallation Survey
The site preinstallation survey information is designed to identify problems that might occur
before, during, or after installation of the system. It contains the following items:
Preinstallation checklists – Verify the customer site is ready for the equipment installation.
Preinstallation survey information sheets – List customer name, address, and corresponding
Hewlett-Packard sales and service personnel.
Preinstallation survey information forms – List delivery information and special instructions.
A.2 Installation Schedule
This document describes the proposed schedule of installation events. The following list describes
the sequence of events leading up to a typical system installation. The actual time line depends
on the conditions established in the sale agreement, but the times shown are typical:
60 days prior: Confirm that the floor plan of the ordered cluster is defined and verified.
30 days prior:
— Power and AC
— Network wiring
— Fire protection
— Facility structural changes
— Delivery requirements defined
— Site inspection complete
— Delivery survey complete
— Site inspection and delivery coordination meeting arranged with an HP representative
to review the inspection checklist and arrange an installation schedule.
7 days prior:
— Final check made with a HP customer representative to resolve any last-minute problems
