First: Install Hardware Using this Road Map
Verify contents.
Obtain HP Navigator CD-ROM release history.
View the Readme File.
Test the system hardware using Diagnostic Assistant (optional).
Install Information Assistant.
Visit Order Assistant (optional).
Install all hardware accessories.
Verify installed hardware accessories (optional).

Second: Configure Hardware
Configure ISA non-Plug-and-Play board (if installed).
Select Network Operating System (NOS).
Configure Integrated Remote Assistant when prompted during Express configuration,
or by selecting "Configure Remote Management" on the Custom Configuration menu.
Third: Install NOS
Install NOS.
For certain versions of Novell NetWare and MS Windows NT, you may use the
HP automated installation process. Install the NOS using the HP-guided
installation process.
For NOSs using vendor-installation process, view and print HP NOS Installation
Instructions. Install the NOS using the vendor-supplied installation utility and
instructions.
Fourth: Install and Configure HP NetServer Management
Refer to the
Install HP TopTools.
Fifth: Install in Rack (Optional)
Refer to the
Rack Assembly and Cabling Reference Guide
instructions.

    The instructions molded into the pedestal point toward the front of the pedestal, which holds the front of the HP NetServer. Center the HP NetServer on the centerline of the pedestal with the front of the HP NetServer extending 2 inches (5 cm) beyond the front of the pedestal. Then push the HP NetServer in toward the rear of the pedestal until it locks into place.

    GO HPPC; download 6005.txt from the NetServer library To obtain drivers and utilities for the non-HP components of your system, follow the directions provided by the component or network operating system (NOS) manufacturer to access the necessary Internet, BBS, or CompuServe site containing the drivers and software.

    Section 6: "Remove the Covers." Lift the the retaining latches to start raising the system board. Grasp the metal bracket at the top of the system board, lift the system board out of the HP NetServer, and place it component-side up on the static-dissipating work Clips surface (antistatic mat).
