Noise gate (for Rec)

Name: Noise gate
Target: Rec output
Settings: Off, Low, Middle, High
Applicable software:
Function description
Noise gate stops the audio output when the input level is low.
Even low-level input audio is output when set to [Low], but only high-level input audio
is output when set to [High]. Usually, set this to [Off].
If the level of noise reduction achieved using [Noise reduction] is insufficient, set this
to [Low], [Middle], or [High]. For example, use when there is random, low volume
noise (footsteps in the hallway, whispering voices, etc.).
Note that the beginning of speech may be lost due to the slight delay in detecting
sound input and deactivating the noise gate.
Installation in locations that require this feature to be used at all times is not
recommended. Take measures to reduce the noise, such as moving the MAS-A100
away from the noise source and lowering the noise level in the room.

Capture range (for Rec)

Name: Capture range
Target: Rec output
Settings: Narrow, Standard, Wide
Applicable software:
Function description
Adjusts the capture range (so that even low voices are captured). The capture range
for general speech is about 7 m radius when set to [Standard].
When set to [Narrow], it is difficult to capture low voices.
When set to [Wide], low voices will be captured, but noise may also be captured if
present.
If there is a noise source within the audio capture range of the MAS-A100, set to
[Narrow].
