Page 4: Grounding The Generator
Never smoke near the generator. Always check for spilled fuel or fuel leaks. Make sure that any spilled fuel has been wiped up before starting the generator. When operating or trans- porting the generator, be sure that it is kept upright. If the unit tilts, fuel may leak from the car- buretor or fuel tank. - Page 5 3B). NOTE: There is no oil in the engine crankcase when the generator is shipped. You must add oil before starting the engine. Check the oil level before each use with the generator on a level surface and the engine stopped. -

For electric start models (DG6000E and DG7000E), place the engine switch in the stop position to stop the generator. See the section titled “OPERATION” beginning on page 6 of this manual for complete starting and stopping instructions. -
Page 8: Voltage Selector Switch
IDLE CONTROL SWITCH The DG4300, DG6000, DG6000E, DG7000 and DG7000E models have an idle control switch (H). The idle control switch automatically reduces engine speed 8 seconds after all electrical loads attached to the generator have been turned off. The engine automatically returns to full speed when an electrical load is turned back on. -

NOTE: When the carburetor has been modified for high altitude operation, the air-fuel mixture FIGURE 18: ELECTRIC will be too lean for low altitude use. If the generator is used at low altitudes after a carburetor START SWITCH modification, the carburetor may cause the engine to overheat and result in serious engine damage. -
