7. PROGRAM DOWNLOAD MODE
7.6 Downloading The Firmware
7.6.1
Preparation of Printer
When downloading, you have to set a printer as a download mode.
The procedure for setting it in a download mode
(1) Turn OFF the power supply of a printer.
(2) Where the FEED key and the PAUSE key are pressed, carry out the depression of the POWER key.
(3) It is displayed on LCD as "DOWNLOAD MODE", and when STATUS LED blinks twice, detach all the
keys.
(4) "FD:TEC and PU:IrDA" are displayed on LCD after that.
(5) When it will not be in the state of (3)(4), redo from (1) again.
(6) A setup changes with I/F used for a degree.
(7) In using USB, it connects a mini B connector male to a printer.
(8) In using IrDA (TEC), it carries out the depression of the FEED key.

Next, an IrDA jig implement (ACT-IR220L+) is connected to the serial connector of host PC.
(9) In using IrDA (IrCOMM), it carries out the depression of the PAUSE key.

Next, an IrDA jig implement (for example, ACT-IR2000UL) is connected to the USB connector of host
PC.

Download by USB
(1) The mini B connector male is connected to a printer.
(2) The A connector male is connected to host PC.
(3) Choose the [Start(S)] from the [Transmission(R)] drop down menu to start downloading.
