Chapter 1 Overview Power Considerations SLC 500 Controllers The SLC 500 controllers require an SLC power supply module on the leftmost slot to provide power to all modules on the chassis. This powers up the controller and the I/O modules. This also facilitates communication through the backplane.
Overview Chapter 1 Sensor/Actuator Power for CompactLogix 5380 The CompactLogix 5380 I/O power system has a common Sensor/Actuator (SA) bus where a single power source can be shared among all attaching I/O modules using the backplane.
