7.19 Inverter Compressor Abnormality
L5
Error Code
Method of Error
The error is detected from current flowing in the power transistor.
Detection
Error Decision
When an excessive current flows in the power transistor
Conditions
(Instantaneous overcurrent also causes activation.)
Defective compressor coil (disconnected, defective insulation)
Supposed
Compressor start-up malfunction (mechanical lock)
Causes
Defective main PCB (A1P)
Troubleshooting
Disconnect the connection
between the compressor
and the main PCB. Turn the
power transistor check
mode setting ON in setting
mode 2.
Note:
Higher voltage than actual is displayed when the inverter output voltage is checked by tester.
Troubleshooting
Be sure to turn off the power switch before connecting or disconnecting
Caution
connectors, or parts may be damaged.
Is the
compressor's coil
YES
disconnected or the
insulation is
defective?
NO
Is inverter
output voltage
balanced? (Normal if
Not balanced
within ±5V. Must be
measured when
frequency is
stable.)
Balanced
There is
YES
instantaneous power
failure.
NO
Troubleshooting for Outdoor Unit
Replace the compressor.
Replace the main PCB
(A1P).
Correct power supply.
Inspect the compressor
according to the diagnosis
procedure for odd noises,
vibration and operating
status of the compressor.
