Instruction Manual Product Overview Mitsubishi Electric now introduces its latest generation of compact inverters, the FREQROL- CS80 inverters. In addition to better features and performance than their predecessors, the models in this series are also more compact and even easier to install. The improvements include a 57% reduction in volume, high performance, ease of use and easy maintenance.

Lineup The applicable motor capacity is the maximum allowable capacity of the motor with respect to a Mitsubishi Electric 4-pole standard motor. World’s smallest class compact body The FREQROL-CS80 compact size is achieved by the low heat generation design. Side by side installation of these inverters is possible as long as the surrounding air temperature does not exceed 40°C.
FR-CS84-295-60 High performance Even with a 57% reduction in volume this inverter still offers high performance. Functions available on this inverter include general-purpose magnetic flux vector control and auto tuning functions. These functions ensure that these inverters can be used in applications that require high starting torque, such as washing machines, agitators, and transfer machines which includes conveyors, hoists, and elevators.

FR-CS84-295-60 Easy to use This inverter has an easy-to-read operation panel. An optional LCD operation panel, the FR- LU08 is also available. This panel can be connected using the separate parameter unit connection cable (FR-CB20 []) with the operation panel connection connector (FR-ADP).

Eight languages are supported and parameter settings for up to three units can be saved. A free trial version of software FR Configurator2 can be downloaded at Mitsubishi Electric FA Global website. This software contains start-up functions which allow for a shorter startup time with easy setup.
FR-CS84-295-60 High-speed communication is supported using a controller and RS-485 communication. The inverter can be controlled and monitored via a network. Using the Mitsubishi inverter protocol, MODBUS RTU protocol enables communication with a speed of 115.2kbps which is faster than the 38.4kbs of a conventional model.
FR-CS84-295-60 Supported Applications This inverter supports a variety of functions that can be used in various applications. Spinning Applications Power failure time deceleration to-stop function The motor decelerates to a stop without coasting when a power failure occurs or undervoltage. Slack in the thread can be controlled even if there is a power failure.
FR-CS84-295-60 Conveyor applications Communication operation (RS-485 communication) Conveyor belts can be controlled individually by using multiple inverters. Automatic operation is possible by collectively managing multiple inverters. Increased excitation deceleration The deceleration time can be reduced without using a brake resistor. The tact time can be reduced to a transfer line or equivalent.

FR-CS84-295-60 Fan and pump applications PID (Proportional, integral, derivative) control The flow rate and air volume are controlled by an inverter. It is possible to regulate the flow rate and the air volume so that they stay at a preset level.

FR-CS84-295-60 Fountain applications Continuous operation function at instantaneous power failure Even in the event of an instantaneous power failure, motor operation continues without coasting and the fountain’s operations are undisturbed. General-purpose magnetic flux vector control Brake unit connection A variety of fountain displays are possible by connecting a brake unit which allows high starting torque and improved braking efficiency during deceleration under general-purpose magnetic flux vector control.

FR-CS84-295-60 Wood processing machine applications Power failure time deceleration to stop function The motor decelerates to a stop without coasting when a power failure occurs or undervoltage. This function is useful for stopping the motor during a power failure to prevent danger.

FR-CS84-295-60 Food machinery applications Fast-response current limit Operation continues and the overcurrent alarm is not activated even if there is a sudden change in load during the cutting of food. General-purpose magnetic flux vector control Depending on the type of ingredients, with the right amount of low-speed torque, it is possible to regulate a suitable speed for food production.
