    The Gemplus GemPC Smart Card Reader from Lenovo supports most memory and microprocessor cards currently on the market and because of its general-purpose architecture, embossed cards can be used. The smart card reader writer is compatible with all cards that meet ISO 7816-1, -2, -3, and 7811 standards (embossed card) with T=0 and T=1 protocols.

    To install the Gemplus GemPC smart card reader writer for Windows XP or Windows 2000, complete the following procedure: 1. Insert the CD for the Gemplus GemPC Smart Card Reader from Lenovo that comes with your option in the computer.

    To install the Gemplus SmartDiag diagnostic tool, complete the following procedure: Insert the Lenovo Smart Card Reader Writer CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. From the computer desktop, click Start → Run. 3. In the Open: field, type d:\smartdiag\setup, where d is the CD-ROM drive.

    This Statement of Limited Warranty includes Part 1 - General Terms, Part 2 - Country-unique Terms, and Part 3 - Warranty Information. The terms of Part 2 replace or modify those of Part 1. The warranties provided by Lenovo Group Limited or one of its subsidiaries (called ″Lenovo″) in this Statement of Limited Warranty apply only to Machines you purchase for your use, and not for resale.

    Limitation of Liability Lenovo is responsible for loss of, or damage to, your Machine only while it is 1) in your Service Provider’s possession or 2) in transit in those cases where Lenovo is responsible for the transportation charges. Neither Lenovo nor your Service Provider are responsible for any of your confidential, proprietary or personal information contained in a Machine which you return for any reason.
