2. Tightening torque (1) Diameter of thread and appropriate tightening torque Generally speaking, the appropriate tightening torque for a screw can be determined by the strength grade of the screw and the material tightened. The tables below list data relative to the strength grade of various screws and the appropriate tightening torque.
Page 10
(2) Bolt tightening torque characteristics The graphs below show the relationship between tightening time and tightening torque according to types of bolts. The data below are intended for reference purposes only because actual tightening torque may vary depending on tightening conditions. For details, please refer to "Tightening torque variation."...
3. Tightening time and number of screws tightened (1) Screw tightening time The table below shows a comparison of the screw tightening time between the Model WH 14DCAL/ WH 14DY and competitors. Please note that the data below are intended for reference purposes only because the actual tightening time may vary depending on hardness of workpieces, ambient temperature, characteristics of the battery, etc.
1. Safety instructions In the interest of promoting the safest and most efficient use of the Model WH 14DCAL/WH 14DY cordless angle impact driver drill by all of our customers, it is very important that at the time of sale, the salesperson...

(8) Disposal of the storage batteries Ensure that all customers understand that the storage batteries should be returned to the Hitachi power tool sales outlet or the authorized service center when they are no longer capable of being recharged or repaired.
2. Tightening torque inspection prior to operation As described and shown in page 7, the output tightening torque of the Models WH 14DCAL and WH 14DY may exceed the rated tightening torque of certain bolts and screws. Accordingly, if the tightening time is prolonged for such bolts and screws, the screws or the bolts may be damaged or sheared off.
If the battery is exposed to direct sunshine for an extended period or if the temperature of the battery is high immediately after it has been used in the Model WH 14DCAL/WH 14DY, the pilot lamp may not light up even though the battery is connected to the charger. The battery is rechargeable when the battery temperature is within the range specified in the table below.
(4) Precaution against impact and water Do not give a strong impact on the Models WH 14DCAL and WH 14DY such as dropping or do not wet them with water because precision components are incorporated in them. Otherwise, a malfunction will occur.
1. Precautions in disassembly and reassembly The [Bold] numbers in the description below correspond to the item numbers in the Parts List and the exploded assembly diagram of the Model WH 14DCAL/WH 14DY. Disassembly 1. Removal of guide sleeve (D) (1) By following the procedure shown in the figures below, remove the Retaining Ring [9], Washer (D) [8], Guide Spring (C) [7] and Guide Sleeve (D) [6] in this order.
