    LTO Ultrium 5 cartridges in other format tape drives. To achieve best performance we recommend using only “Fujitsu — Preferred Quality” LTO Media cartridges. For optimum performance always use LTO Ultrium 5 data cartridges because they match the specification of your tape drive.

    LTO-5 tape drives and encryption 5.5.1 When should I use encryption? Your company policy will determine when you need to use encryption. For example, it may be mandatory for company confidential and financial data, but not for personal data. Company policy will also define how encryption keys should be generated and managed.

    Encryption is supported only on LTO Ultrium 5 media and LTO Ultrium 4 media. Encrypted LTO Ultrium 5 and LTO Ultrium 4 tapes can be read on any compatible LTO tape drive that supports hardware encryption. (LTO-5 tape drives can read and write encrypted LTO Ultrium 5 media and LTO Ultrium 4 media.)
