The DGS-3100 Series also provides Four Mini-GBIC (SFP) combo ports which connect fiber optic media to switches, servers, or network back-bones. The DGS-3100 Series provides an additional RS-232 DEC Diagnostic port (console port) for managing the switch via a console terminal or PC with a Terminal Emulation Program.

    Web-Based Network Management Introduction The DGS-3100 Series offers an embedded Web-based (HTML) interface allowing users to manage the device from anywhere on the network through a standard browser, such as Netscape Navigator/Communicator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox. The Web browser acts as a universal access tool and can communicate directly with the Switch using the HTTP protocol.
