  • Page 5 Replacing the memory module The computer has one memory module compartment, which is located on the bottom of the computer. The memory capacity of the computer can be enhanced by upgrading the existing memory module in the memory module slot. WARNING! power cord and remove all batteries before installing a memory module.
  • Page 6 Lift the memory module compartment cover (2) away from the computer. Remove the memory module: Pull away the retention clips (1) on each side of the memory module. The memory module tilts up. CAUTION the edges only. Do not touch the components on the memory module. Grasp the edge of the memory module (2), and gently pull the module out of the memory module slot.
  • Page 7 Insert a new memory module: Align the notched edge (1) of the memory module with the tab in the memory module slot. CAUTION the edges only. Do not touch the components on the memory module. With the memory module at a 45-degree angle from the surface of the memory module compartment, press the module (2) into the memory module slot until it is seated.

  • Page 9 Effect of increasing memory on the hibernation file When hibernation is initiated, the operating system saves your information to a hibernation file on the hard drive and then turns off the computer. The operating system reserves space on the hard drive to store the hibernation file based on the amount of system memory.
