    NOTE: A slight odor is normal when a new cooktop is used for the first time. It is caused by the heating of new parts and insulating materials and will disappear in a short time.

    To lock the cooktop and prevent unwanted use, turn the control lock knob to LOCK. An indicator light will glow to show that the cooktop is locked. (on some models) To use the small surface element, turn the SELECTOR knob to turn the control knob to the desired setting.

    Remove any residue immediately after use. Do not let a pot boil dry. Overheated metal can bond to the glass cooktop and leave a permanent stain if it is not removed immediately. Pans with rounded, curved, ridged or warped bottoms are not recommended.
