  • Page 2 Introduction These instructions document how to install the A4350A upgrade kit in the Model 748i/64 or 748i/100 Ruggedized Workstation (Kit A4309–70006) or TELEPACE (Kit A4350–70008). Kit Contents The tray in each kit come preassembled. The following are parts checklists for tray assemblies in Kit numbers A4309–70006 for Model 748i/64 or 748i/100 and A4350–70008 for TELEPACE.

    Installation Procedures Following are the procedures to install the HP A4350A Mass Storage Module upgrade in the Model 748i/64 or 748i/100 Ruggedized Workstation. or TELEPACE. Prerequisites The HP A4268A Fast Wide Differential SCSI Adapter must be installed on the Model 743 CPU board. Refer to the Model A4268A Fast/Wide Differential SCSI Adapter Installation and Service Guide for installation instructions.
  • Page 4 Mass Storage Module Configuration and Installation The following provides the information for configuring and installing the new mass storage module. Before configuring the new mass storage module, you need to know the type and location of the SCSI devices that are going into the new module. Mass Storage Module Configuration Guidelines The following are guidelines on how to configure the mass storage module.

Unplug the system unit power cord and the power cords of any peripheral devices from the power source Unplug the system unit power cord from the power connector at the back of the power supply.
  • Page 7 Installing Devices in the New Mass Storage Module Follow these steps to install the mass storage devices in the new mass storage module. Figure 4 shows the cabling scheme for the new mass storage module. Remove the mass storage devices from the old mass storage module. Install the mass storage devices into the new mass storage module.

    Attach the mass storage devices to the appropriate slotted mounting holes in the new mass storage module as shown in Figure 5.
