The End-Of-Command-String character is used in Data Transfer Mode 2 (see the MD
command). In data transfer mode 2, device-dependent commands are accepted and stored in
an internal buffer and are not processed until the End-Of-Command-String (EOCS)
character is received or the buffer is filled (48 bytes).
