Assembling Your Device


Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is not connected to the mains supply before connecting the attachments.

Attaching the Flexible Hose to the unit

Attach the Flexible Hose (13) to the vacuum cleaner by pushing the Vacuum Hose Connector (16) into the Air Intake (5) until it clicks home, arrowed above:

NB to remove the hose, press the catches on either side (arrowed above) of the Vacuum Hose Connector (16) and pull it out of the Air Intake (5):

Attaching the Telescopic Tube and Floor Tool

  1. Push the Hose Tool Connector (15) on the end of the Flexible Hose (13) into the Telescopic Tube (17) as shown below:
  2. Attach the Floor Tool (11) to the other end of the Telescopic Tube (17) as shown below:

  3. Extend the Telescopic Tube (17) to the desired length by pushing the catch down and adjusting as below:

  4. The Flexible Hose (13), Telescopic Tube (17) and Floor Tool (11) are shown assembled below:

Using Your Device

  1. Pull the mains cable and plug fully out of the vacuum cleaner, do not use the vacuum without pulling the cable all the way out.
  2. Press the On/off Switch (2) to power up the vacuum, press the switch again to switch off the vacuum.


NB Adjust the lever (arrowed above) on the Floor Tool (11) according to the type of floor being cleaned. Push the lever down for use on hard floors (i.e. non carpeted), pull the lever up for vacuum cleaning carpets:

Using the Crevice & Upholstery Multi Tool

Attach the Crevice & Upholstery Multi Tool (18) onto the Telescopic Tube (17) to clean carpet edges, upholstered furniture and hard to get at areas:

Fold the brush down to clean hard to get at areas and upholstery.

NB If the Telescopic Tube (17) is not required, attach the Crevice & Upholstery Multi Tool (18) or the Floor Tool (11) directly to the Hose Tool Connector (15) on the end of the flexible hose, this useful whilst cleaning soft furnishings, stairs, etc. as below:

Using the Flexible Hose and Pet Brush

For difficult to remove soiling on upholstery such as pet hairs, the pet brush can be used.
This should be fitted onto the hose as shown below.
The fixed combs and rotating pneumatic brush clean up the stubborn or matted hairs.

Using the Power/Speed Controller

This control is useful for varying the suction power. Slide the control right towards '-' reduce power whilst cleaning hard floors or similar, slide the control left towards '+' to increase suction power for carpets, rugs, etc.

NB the suction can also be regulated by sliding the Air Control Valve (14) on the Hose Tool Connector (15) up and down.

Emptying and Cleaning the Unit


Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  1. Once the dust level reaches the 'MAX' mark (arrowed below) on the Dust Compartment (6) it will need emptying and the filters cleaned.

do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the 'MAX' mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

  1. To empty the cleaner, press the Cylinder Release Catch (1) and remove the Cylinder from the vacuum by the Cylinder Handle (8).
    Hold the Dust Compartment (6) over a dust bin and press the Dust Release Catch (20) (arrowed below) and the base of the dust compartment will swing open and allow the collected dust to fall out into the dust bin.
  2. Hold the Cylinder by the Dust Compartment (6) and lift the Cylinder Filter Catch (7) and open the top of the Cylinder and lift out the Filter as shown below.

  3. Hold the Cylinder by the and twist off the Dust Compartment (6) to remove the Cyclonic Filter from the top of the Cylinder as shown below.

  4. Remove the Cotton (a) and the foam filter (b). Wash the filters in warm running water until clean. Allow the filters to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before reuse.

  5. Lift the Cyclonic filter (c) out of the Dust Compartment (6) and again wash carefully in running water until clean. Allow the filter to dry for 24 hours before reuse.
    NB avoid wetting the lid section whilst cleaning.
  6. Remove the mesh from around the Cyclonic filter and wash in warm running water until clean. Allow the mesh to thoroughly dry for 24 hours before re-fitting it back around the Conical Filter (c) above.
  7. Finally, remove the outlet Hepa filter located under the cylinder as follows:

Care and Use of your Product


Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  • Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not submerge the cleaner in water or any other liquids.
  • Empty the Dust Compartment (6) as soon as the 'MAX' line is reached.*
  • Wash the Cotton, Hepa, Sponge and Cyclonic Filters regularly – see table below.
  • Allow all the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.


*do not continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the 'MAX' mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Ensure the filters are cleaned periodically according to the table above, failure to clean the filters regularly will severely impair the performance and permanent damage may occur to the appliance and may invalidate your warranty.

Electrical Connections

This appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS 1363. If the plug has to be removed, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of immediately.


To avoid a possible shock hazard, do not insert the discarded plug into a mains socket.

Fitting a new plug

The mains lead must be connected as shown below. The wires are coloured with the following code - Brown wire = Live (L), Blue wire = Neutral (N).
NB
no connection must be made to the Earth (E) terminal.

  • Ensure the outer sheath of the mains lead is securely held by the cable clamp
  • The Brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured Red.
  • Check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside the plug.
  • Use a 13 Amp BS 1362 fuse, only use BSI or ASTA approved fuses.
  • If you are in any way unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
  • After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Unit fails to turn on

The unit may not be properly plugged in. The fuse may have tripped. Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the socket and the socket is switched on. Check the fuse on the mains board, if it has tripped, reset it.

Low suction or poor pick-up

Cylinder is full.
Filters are clogged.
Blockage in the hose.
Empty the cylinder. Check and clean the filters.
Check the hose and clear if necessary.

The unit is making a hissing sound

The airflow is restricted Empty the cylinder. Check and clean the filters.
Check the hose and clear any blockages if necessary.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
