    Gasoline and Oil Recommended Gasoline Use unleaded regular gasoline suitable for automotive use (85 pump octane minimum). You may use leaded regular gasoline if unleaded regular is not available. Important Never use methanol, gasoline containing methanol, or gasohol containing more than 10% ethanol because the fuel system could be damaged.

    Using the Safety Interlock Setting the KeyChoice Switch to Operate in Reverse System The interlock feature on the tractor prevents the power take-off (PTO) from operating when you back up the Caution tractor. If you operate the tractor in reverse with the blades (PTO) engaged (i.e., with the mower blades or other attachment running), the engine will stop.

    Operating Tips For the best performance, operate the engine at the maximum speed. The mower requires air to thoroughly cut grass clippings, so do not set the height-of-cut too low or completely surround the mower in uncut grass. Always leave one side of the mower free from uncut grass to allow the air to be drawn into the mower.

    Servicing the Battery Check the electrolyte level in the battery before each use. Always keep the battery clean and fully charged. Use a paper towel to clean the battery and battery box. If the battery terminals are corroded, clean them with a solution of 4 parts water and 1 part baking soda.
