    Your new tractor has been assembled unassembled for shipping purposes. tractor all parts and hardware you assemble correct tools as necessary to insure proper tightness. you begin. TOOLS REQUIRED ASSEMBLY A socket wrench set will make assembly easier. Standard wrench sizes you need are listed below.

    Battery Door INSTALL SEAT Adjust seat before tightening knob. • Remove adjustment knob and flat washer securing seat to cardboard packing and set aside for assembly seat to tractor. • Pivot seat upward and remove from the cardboard packing. Remove cardboard packing and discard.

    INSTALL MULCHER PLATE (If previously removed) • Raise and hold deflector shield in upright position. • Place front of mulcher plate over front of mower deck opening and slide into place, as shown. • Hook front latch into hole on front of mower deck.

    BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL • The engine in your tractor has been shipped, from the factory, already filled with summer weight oil. • Check engine oil with tractor on level ground. • Remove oil fill cap/dipstick and wipe clean, reinsert the dipstick and screw cap tight, wait for a few seconds, remove and read oil level.

  • Page 17 TRACTOR Always observe safety rules when performing any maintenance. BRAKE OPERATION If tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted. (See 'q-O ADJUST BRAKE" in the Service and Adjustments section of this manual).

    ENGINE COOLING FINS Remove any dust, dirt or oil from engine cooling fins to prevent engine damage from overheating. • Remove screws from blower housing and lift housing and dipstick tube assembly off engine. • Cover oil fill opening to prevent entry of dirt.

  • Page 24 REPLACING BATTERY ACAUTION: Do not shod battery terminals by allowing a wrench or any other object to contact both terminals at the same time. Before connecting battery, remove metal bracelets, wristwatch bands,rings,etc. Positive terminal must be connected first to prevent sparking from accidental grounding.
