Replacing the processor fan holder
The processor fan holder consists of the holder, the processor fan backplane
and the fan cable. The holder is completely assembled as spare part (see the
board layout on
page
Ê Open the server as described in the
I
The following steps are described in detail in the Options Guide, chapter
„Processors".
Ê Remove the ventilation duct over the system fans.
Ê If only one processor has been installed: remove the heat sink holder and
the dummy cover of the processor fan.
Ê Take the processor fan(s) out of the processor fan holder.
Ê Press the two green touch points of the processor fan holder simultaneously
in opposite directions and lift out the processor fan holder.
Ê Reinstall the processor fan holder.
Ê Reinstall the processor fan(s).
Ê If only one processor has been installed: reinstall the dummy cover of the
processor fan and the heat sink holder.
Ê Reinstall the ventilation duct over the system fans.
Ê Close the server and connect all power plugs (for a detailed description see
the Options Guide).

Replacing the Power backplane

Ê Open the server as described in the
Ê Push the green latch of the hot-plug power supply unit upward and pull the
power supply unit simultaneously out of the PS cage using the handle (see
also the Operating Manual).
Ê If a second hot-plug power supply unit has been installed, remove this one
in the same way (an installed dummy cover can rest in place).
