    AMILO Pro Restoring hard disk contents (recovery) With the "Windows Recovery CD" you can restore the operating system on your notebook. Should you need to restore your hard disk, the instructions are provided on the case of the "Recovery CD" (delivered with your system).

    AMILO Pro Preparation for use and operation Please take note of the safety information in the "Important notes" chapter. You must charge the battery and install the application programmes before you can work with the notebook. The operating system and drivers required are preinstalled. Before you can work with your notebook, you need to charge the battery and install and configure the delivered software.

    AMILO Pro Connecting the power adapter Please take note of the information in the section "Selecting a location". Upon delivery, the battery can be found in the battery compartment. The power cable supplied conforms to the requirements of the country in which you purchased your notebook.

  • Page 16: Switching On The Notebook For The First Time

    AMILO Pro Switching on the notebook for the first time When you switch on your notebook for the first time, the supplied software is installed and configured. Due to the fact that this installation must not be interrupted, you should set aside enough time for it to be fully completed and connect the notebook to the mains outlet using the power adapter.

    AMILO Pro After switch-on a self-test (POST, Power On Self Test) is automatically carried out. Never switch the notebook off during the self-test. Switching off the notebook ► Close all programmes and shut down your operating system (please see operating system manual).

    AMILO Pro Battery The battery in the notebook is not fully charged at the time of delivery. You must first charge the battery with the power adapter connected to the mains supply (see the section "Connecting the power adapter"). The battery supplies your notebook with the necessary power during mobile use. The battery indicator displays the current state of the battery.

    AMILO Pro Port Replicator (optional) The Port Replicator is a docking device with which you can quickly connect your notebook to your peripheral devices. Disconnecting the notebook from the Port Replicator If you disconnect the notebook from the Port Replicator during operation, problems can occur.
