Glossary - Technical Terminology
AF - Alternative Frequency
In RDS this function ensures that the radio
always tunes into the frequency with the best
reception for the station.
Amplifier
Amplifies the output power.
AUD – Audio
Sound settings for bass and treble, balance
(left/right) and fader (front/rear).
BND (Band)
Switches between bands and memory
banks.
Changer
CD changer
CL – Clear
Returns to the previous menu item.
DSC – Direct Software Control
With the help of DSC it is possible to adjust
the basic factory settings to your own per-
sonal preferences.
ENT (Enter)
Press briefly to accept/store settings.

Equalizer
Adjusts the frequencies to the acoustic con-
ditions and personal tastes.
EXIT
Press to end/cancel a setting.
KeyCard
Theft protection system from Blaupunkt. The
car stereo cannot be operated without the
correct KeyCard.
MIX
CDs/CD tracks are played in random order.
MUTE
Switches audio off
Preset Scan
See Scan
PTY
Designed for the selection of a specific type
of program in FM (e.g. sports, news). Also
see RDS.
RDS – Radio Data System
Service provided by radio stations to en-
hance radio listening pleasure.
The station name, for example, is displayed
instead of the frequency.
Other RDS functions include:
AF – Alternative Frequency
PTY – Program type
RPT (Repeat)
Repeats CD tracks. In changer operation
you can repeat single tracks or complete
CDs.
SCAN
Briefly plays the radio stations in your cur-
rent reception range or the tracks on a CD
in CD mode. Using Preset Scan you can
scan the radio stations stored on the preset
buttons.
Softkey (Software key)
Key with varying functions
SRC - Source
Source switch between radio and CD chang-
er.
TPM – Track Program Memory
Stores and plays your favorite tracks in CD
or changer mode.
TS – Travelstore
Automatically stores the stations with the
best reception on the station preset buttons.
Very useful during trips.
