Before You Start
The SmartDispense system can only be used with LIQUID detergent
designed for use in an automatic dishwasher.
Opening the SmartDispense Cap
To open the cap covering the SmartDispense reservoir, push down on the
cap and turn counterclockwise. It takes approximately 2 full turns to
disengage the cap from the reservoir in the door. If you do not push
down, the cap will spin freely and not loosen from the reservoir.
When the cap is removed, set it on the countertop.
Filling the SmartDispense Reservoir
Set the door at a comfortable angle (approximately 30 to 45 degrees from
full open).
Aim the liquid dishwasher detergent bottle at the opening in the door
and begin to fill. Fill the reservoir until the detergent just starts to build
up on the threads of the reservoir access.
The detergent reservoir in the door has the capacity to hold 47 fluid
ounces of liquid dishwasher detergent.
Closing the SmartDispense Reservoir
To close the SmartDispense reservoir, place the cap over the top of
the access hole and turn clockwise until the cap is tight. Insufficient
tightening could lead to a leak.
SmartDispense Detergent Level Sensor
There is a light indicator on the control panel that will signal when the

detergent reservoir is low. The light will turn on when the low level is

indicated. When this happens, you will have between 3 and 7 wash cycles
