Using the Remote Teaching function
The remote teaching function is available on HPX-T3, HPX-TV3, HPX-T4, HPX-TV4 models.
It allows the operator to program the sensor from a remote location, or to program a number of sensors in the same time.
As many sensors as needed can have their remote teaching inputs tied together, and be programmed via a manual switch or a PLC output.
For NPN versions (HPX-T3, HPX-TV3), the remote teaching wire must be connected to the ground for programming. When not
programming, it must be left open or, better, connected to the power supply.
For PNP versions (HPX-T4, HPX-TV4), the remote teaching wire must be connected to the power supply for programming. When not
programming, it must be left open or, better, connected to the ground.
The remote teaching function allows to program the sensor in Distinction/Contrast mode only. Positioning and Maximum Sensitivity
modes can not be programmed by remote teaching and must be programmed using the tuning button.
How to teach the sensor
1 - Do not put the selection switch on "set"
2 - Present the first target
3 - Connect the Remote Teaching Input to the Ground (NPN versions)
or to Vdc (PNP versions), for a minimum of 100 ms
4 - Present the second target (leave at least 200 ms between teachings)
5 - Connect the Remote Teaching Input to the Ground (NPN versions)
or to Vdc (PNP versions), for a minimum of 100 ms
6 - The display shows the contrast margin for about 1 second
7 - The sensor is programmed and goes back automatically to normal mode
Error :
If the level of light received is too low, or if the contrast margin is too tight, then the sensor goes in error state (showing "E"), and latches its output until it is re-taught.
