Collective detector lines
On a collective detector line, the detector is not set to test mode if the detector
group is switched to 'Test' on the control panel.
Detectors on a collective detector line are switched to test mode for 3 minutes in
the following cases:
Starting up and resetting the detector line.
l
Inserting the detector.
l
Removing the detector from the detector line and re-inserting it.
l
To trigger a detector using test gas, normally 2...4 gas discharges at intervals of
approx. 2 seconds are required. When the detector is in test mode, activation
takes place after approximately 10 seconds.
MS8/PMT and AnalogPLUS detector lines
On an MS8/PMT or AnalogPLUS detector line, the detector is not set to test mode
if the detector or the detector group is switched to 'Test' on the control panel.
Unlike on a collective detector line, the detector must not be removed from the
detector line for a short time and re-inserted. Testing without a detector exchanger
and tester is therefore difficult, especially with smoke detectors.
In AnalogPLUS mode, you can use the detector exchanger and tester to select
parameter set 12, which has a short response time.

Replacing the control panel or installing a line card
During modernization we would recommend replacing the existing fire control panel
with a Sinteso FC20xx control panel.
In the case of the 'AlgoRex' and 'SIGMASYS' product lines, a line card (FDnet) can
be fitted in the existing fire control panel (E3M141, FDC).
