PC-PIR15 Installation Guide (READ THIS FIRST)
Please read this entire guide first prior to installation
Installing the PC-PIR15 People Counting System is very simple.
following a few basic guidelines as explained below your installation will be
quick and result in years of trouble free service.
Instructions
1. Prior to installation please consider the precautionary statements
and maximum transmission range stated below.
2. Install the SS-TD10 Transmitter/Sensor (for detailed instructions
refer to the provided installation guide/manual for the SS-TD10)
3. Install the SS-RC10 Receiver (refer to the system layout section on
page 2 of this manual and the manual included with the
SS-RC10 Receiver
Note: Resetting the basic LCD digital display is accomplished by swiping the magnetic tool (found on
the SenSource keychain) over the area marked "Reset" on the display box.
1. Outdoor Use – Only the SS-TD10 sensor is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. The SS-RC10 receiver
is not suitable for outdoor use.
2. High Temperature, High humidity & Dirty Fumes – Do not expose the PC-PIR15 components to high
temperatures, rapid temperature changes, steam, high humidity, dirty fumes or oily smoke.
3. Light – Direct sunlight or automobile headlights may cause false alarms.
4. Obstruction – Moving objects such as bushes or curtains may cause false alarms.
5. Other Electric Devices – Use the PC-PIR15 components at least 3ft (1m) away from following devices: TV,
radio, personal computers, microwave oven, refrigerator, any device that has an electric motor (this may
cause malfunction).
6. Transmission range may decrease under following conditions:
A steel door, steel reinforced concrete, or other metal obstructions between SS-TD10 sensor and the
SS-RC10 receiver.
Installing either the SS-TD10 or the SS-RC10 receiver on a metal surface.
Places near strong radio sources, such as a broadcast station or high power lines.
7. Impact/Shock – Do not drop either unit or submit them to a strong impact/shock.
8. Tampering – The changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
9. Battery Replacement – Replace the battery on the SS-TD10 every 2 years. Use only 9V alkaline batteries.
10. Cleaning – Harsh cleaners such as paint remover or benzene may ruin the surface. Use a soft, wet cloth and
mild soap or detergent to clean.
1000 ft. (300m) – Open field, line of sight with no RF interference
Above measurement was made over level ground without obstruction or interference. Natural or man-made
obstacles and other environmental factors can interfere with, or otherwise reduce, transmission range. Please
use the information below as a reference for transmission performance. Actual transmission range should be
tested prior to final mounting of components.
