Configuring Domain Name System (DNS)
Data
The function of a DNS in a VoIP network is to provide telephone number-to-IP Address
translations
maximum of 511 units in the network. DNS database is owned jointly by all units in the network
(therefore it is necessary to update every unit with the latest DNS database whenever the
network configuration is changed).
For example numbering plan, refer to 1.2 Network Devices and Numbering Plan.

4.3.1 Editing DNS Data

IP address-to-telephone number translation can also be handled by using an H.323 Gatekeeper device. To configure

Highlight "Main" in the Groups Window
Pane.

Select "Tools"
"Edit".
2. "Configure DNS setting" window appears.
Click [Add].

digits, and Comment.

Select the desired unit(s), then click [OK].
