Unpack the machine and check all the enclosed items. Remove the tape holding the machine tightly. Install both the print cartridge. Load paper. See "Loading Paper" . Make sure that all the cables are connected to the printer. Turn the printer on. NOTE: When you move the printer, do not tilt or turn it upside down.

Your printer prints documents using the Printer Control Language (PCL) or PostScript (PS) printer driver. When you install the Dell software, your printer automatically installs the PCL printer driver. Installing the PS printer driver is optional. See "Installing Dell Software for Local Printing" .

Select the printer driver that you want to use from the Print window. To take advantage of the printer features provided by your printer, click Preferences or Properties, depending on the program or operating system in the above window and go to step 5. If you see Setup , Printer or Options , click that button instead.
