    Honeywell’s Enterprise Digital Video Manager (DVM). The encoder will convert an analog video signal into a digital format and send this data to a DVM workstation for live viewing or a server for recording. The HNVE130A also supports signals from both fixed and Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras with control capabilities. The digital formats available include MJPEG, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, and DivX.

    Figure 1-2 HNVE130A Rear View Video Input The BNC connector accepts composite NTSC or PAL video. The level should be approximately 1 V P-P when terminated with 75 Ω. Video Output The BNC connector provides a buffered output of the video source. The output level will match the input signal level when terminated with 75 Ω.
  • Page 14 Power LED The red power LED will illuminate when power is applied to the unit. Power Jack A 2.1 mm jack accepts 12 VDC power for the unit from the power supply provided with the unit (SBE, Model No. SP1805A). The center must be positive, and the nominal current consumption is 300 mA, but the supply must be capable of providing 12 VDC @ 0.5 A.

    Installation Mounting the Unit The HNVE130A has three basic mounting options: • Placed flat on a shelf • Fastened to a surface using the provided L-brackets • Mounted in a 19” rack using the optional rack-mount accessory If the encoder will be fastened to a surface, the L-brackets can be attached in one...

    When mounting the encoder in the optional rack-mount accessory (sold separately), the L-brackets can be mounted on either the front or back positions, as indicated in Figure 2-2.     Setting the IP Address The Easy Network Configuration Program (ENCP) application is used to configure the IP Address, unit name and password. This application is provided on a CD with each unit and can be run directly from the CD, or run from a more convenient location such as your desktop.

    Select the Static IP or the DHCP addressing option as specified by your network administrator (see Figure 2-4). Figure 2-4 Network Info Tab If you have selected the Static IP option: Enter the Static IP Network Setting in the text boxes. Click the Save checkmark icon( ) below to save your settings.

    Changing the password in the DVM system, will change the password that will be applied as default for all HNVE130A units installed in the future. When a new HNVE130A unit is installed, a new streamer record is built using the DVM default password.

    Navigate to the rows in which the StreamerType field is set as HNVE130A. Select the DefaultPassword field and enter your new password. Note The default user ID must remain as root. This is the user ID for the administrator account on the HNVE130A.

    HNVE130A Adapter with any upgrades available from Honeywell in the future. This installation needs to be done on all the DVM Clients as well as the Honeywell DVM Server, if DVM is installed on two or more different machines. If the DVM Server and Client are on the same machine, run the installation only once.

    Start Copying Files Click Next to start copying the installation files. If the Honeywell DVM client is open, a dialog box is displayed, prompting you to close the client. Close the client and click Yes to continue with the installation.

    After the installation is complete, Figure 2-17 will appear. Figure 2-17 InstallShield Wizard Complete Click Finish to exit from the InstallShield Wizard. After the installation is complete, the Camera Service restarts automatically. Viewing Live Images Verify that the encoder is working properly before trying to view live images from the DVM system.

Main menu items are listed on the left pane of all pages and can be selected to proceed to each section. They will be described in more detail below.

    The OSD (on-screen display) can permanently overlay text information on the video. Once enabled, text is permanently overlayed onto the image (see Figure 2-24). The DVM system is also capable of overlaying text information on the image, but can be enabled or disabled during viewing (it is not permanently overlayed onto the image).

    Port The web port value is set to a default of 80. If this number is changed, the new port number will need to be appended to the URL (for example: xx.xx.xx.xx :yy, where x is the IP address and y is the new port number). Most browsers will use a default port of 80 and the port number does not need to be appended to the URL address unless it is changed from the default value.

    The firmware is updated from time to time to address problems and to add features. New firmware may be provided by technical services, or be available from the product download site on Honeywell.com.
