    Packaging and transporting guidelines Follow these grounding guidelines when packaging and transporting equipment: ● To avoid hand contact, transport products in static-safe tubes, bags, or boxes. ● Protect ESD-sensitive parts and assemblies with conductive or approved containers or packaging. ● Keep ESD-sensitive parts in their containers until the parts arrive at static-free workstations.

If it is necessary to replace the optical drive bracket on the rear of the optical drive, position the optical drive with the rear panel toward you. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws (1) that secure the bracket to the optical drive.

  • Page 69 Using a flat-bladed screwdriver or similar tool, push the tabs of the 4 keyboard clips (1) that are visible inside the battery bay towards the rear of the computer to loosen the keyboard. Insert a screwdriver or similar small tool into the keyboard release hole (2), and then press on the back of the keyboard until the keyboard disengages from the computer.
  • Page 70 Lift the rear edge of the keyboard (1), and then swing the keyboard up and forward (2) until it rests upside down on the palm rest. Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) to which the keyboard cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard cable (2) from the system board.

Remove the eleven Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws that secure the top cover to the computer. Turn the computer right-side up with the front toward you, and then open the computer.
