    Under certain conditions, twisted pair cables can become charged with static electricity. Connecting a statically charged twisted pair cable to the XG0448 can cause the device or its LAN port to operate falsely or to become damaged. Use a static removal tool to discharge twisted pair cables to ground prior to connecting them to the XG0448.

Also see below for how to install the USB memory. 2.3.1 Discharging Twisted Pair Cable Discharge static electricity of the twisted pair cable through the ground wire cable (ground wire for power supply, buildings, etc.) using static electricity removal tool, before connecting twisted pair cable to the switch.
