    Presentation Mode uses ambient light to detect bar codes. The LEDs are off for ambient conditions until a change occurs in the imager’s field of view. Then the LEDS turn on automatically to read the code. If the light level in the room is not high enough, Presentation Mode may not work properly.

    When centering is turned on, the imager only reads codes that intersect or are contained within the centering window you set up. At least part of a bar code must be within the window to be decoded or out- put by the imager.

If the data length of the scanned bar code doesn’t match the valid reading length, the imager will issue an error beep. You may wish to set the same value for minimum and maximum length to force the imager to read fixed length bar code data.

    Codabar Check Character Codabar check characters are created using different “modulos.” You can pro- gram the imager to read only Codabar bar codes with Modulo 16 check charac- ters.
