Installing the Batteries

1. Insert two R6 (size AA) batteries with the and marks aligned correctly.

Replacing the batteries

Change the batteries when the sound becomes weak or distorted. Remove both of the old batteries and insert new ones.

Notes on batteries

If the battery compartment lid comes off

The battery compartment lid is designed to come off when opened with excessive force. To put it back on, see the illustration.

Operating the Radio

* There is a tactile dot beside Power switch/VOL to show the direction to turn on the power and turn up the volume

1. Turn the Power switch/VOL (volume) control to turn on the power and adjust the volume.
   When you have finished listening, turn the control down to turn off the power.
2. Set the BAND selector to select FM or AM.
3. Turn the TUNING control to select a station.
   The TUNE indicator lights when a station is received.

To turn off the radio

Turn the Power switch/VOL (volume) control downwards to OFF until a click is heard.

To listen with an earphone

Connect the optional earphone to the jack.
The speaker does not emit sound when an earphone is connected

Improving the Reception

FM: Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust its length and angle for the best reception.
AM: Rotate the unit horizontally for op reception. A ferrite bar antenna is built into the unit
