Overview

MPUB is the main process and switching board of ME60-8, implementing such global functions as

route processing, service processing, resource management, state monitor, network management

agent and data switching. The main control board is inserted in the MPU slot of ME60-8 backplane

frame. Redundant configuration can be used to realize hot backup. When two MPUBs and two

switching network boards are used together, the ME60-8 can realize 3+1 redundant configuration of

the switching module.

ME60-8 has 12 slots in total: two main control slots, two switching network board slots and eight

service line card slots. Each ME60-8 needs to be configured with one or two MPUBs. Two MPUBs

are recommended. It can realize redundant backup of main control board and improves the system

reliability.

Specifications

On the MPUB of ME60-8 five external interfaces are provided: CONSOLE port (communication

serial port), AUX port (auxiliary communication serial port), 10/100/1000BASE-TX Ethernet port, CF

card interface and system clock input/output interface.

ME60-8 Main Process Unit（MPUB）

Interface

It is a communication serial port, using RS-232 level. This Console

port is used to connect the background terminal for debugging,

configuring, maintaining, managing the system and loading the host

software program.

It is an auxiliary communication serial port, using RS-232 level. The

port

AUX port is used to connect the MODEM device. It implements

remote configuration, maintenance and management through

dial-up.
