    ABB Ability Smart Substation Control and Protection for electrical systems SSC600 is a Smart Substation device designed for protection, control, measurement and supervision of utility substations and industrial switchgear and equipment. The design of the device has been guided by the IEC 61850 standard for communication and interoperability of substation automation devices.

    The measured values need to be transferred as sampled values using the IEC 61850-9-2 LE protocol. The SSC600 IEDs with process bus based applications use IEEE 1588 v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) according to IEEE C37.238-2011 Power Profile for high accuracy time synchronization.
