1 Introduction
This publication details replacing an SM500F Videographic Recorder's door assembly. The procedure must
be carried out by a trained technician.
The contents of the replacement kits are shown in Table 1.1 (color display) and Table 1.2 (monochrome
display), respectively.

Unlock the door with the key A, press the release catch B and open the door. b. Remove the tamper-evident seal (if fitted), release the captive screw C securing the inner cover plate and remove the plate.

Referring to Fig. 3.5, disconnect the keypad membrane cable F from the processor board. Fig. 3.5 Disconnecting the Keypad Membrane Cable 7. Referring to Fig. 3.6, remove the 4 Torx screws G securing the display mounting plate and remove the plate, complete with the display, ensuring that the keypad membrane cable clears slot H in the display mounting plate.

Place the new door assembly face down on the work surface and, referring to Fig. 3.7, route the keypad membrane cable J through the slot in the display mounting plate and position the plate in the door assembly.
